Yes, I fell off the face of the Earth. I arrived back safely and fell into a little hole in the Earth I like to call Katie Brown's house. And this is because Cute Baby lives there, and I can't get enough of Cute Baby.
For the first week home I nuzzled and cuddled and even saw poop shoot out of Cute Baby's poop-schute (fun). But now I'm working (using the word in its loosest form). I am currently at "work" where I watch three rambunctious children. They are aged 7 to 13 and I am listening to them jump and scream and yell in the room above me. I wait patiently until I can't hear them anymore, or I hear crying, and then I know I need to address a situation -- either of injury or death. But not a minute before. We are also going to see Kung-foo Panda today. Perhaps there will be more to come from that excursion. But I will leave you with this gem of a story: Rambunctious Child #1 (the oldest) was playing with their new puppy, Homer, yesterday and pronounced to her mother that "Homer really likes when I play with his udder," which is what she calls Homer's boy-part. To which Mother of Rambunctious Children tells Treasure #1 "never, never, never do that again, and especially to puppies of the human variety, because they really like to have their udders played with." The End.
The job search is drearily and depressingly uneventful. I heard back from the school to where I am an alumni that they filled both of the positions (and when I say "heard back" I mean that they finally returned my millions of phone calls, probably because they felt bad for me.) To which I want to know -- what good is to to be an alumni someplace if they can't even get you a job? Huh? Still no word from Rich Suburban High School, but I'm thinking it's not looking good. I just applied yesterday to Not-So Rich Suburban High School which is located about 20 miles from where I intend to be living, but they only made the post yesterday, so I feel confident that I am one of the first people to apply. Perhaps my promptness and eagerness will land me an interview, and then I will dazzle them with my teaching skillz (and spelling). But until then, I will be looking for suitable jobs of the desk variety. Freelance Editing might be one of them.
Now I am off to finish the last 433 pages of a 434 page book for book club tomorrow ... (not really Maggie, I have about 1/4 of the book left..)

I bet it feels so good to be back home - especially with a cute new baby too. :) Best wishes with landing that job! I'm sure with your "skillz" you will be hired instantly! :) :)
