Monday: I saw fairly late in the day that Elyria, the school that offered me a job here last year, was hiring an English teacher. I peed my pants and vowed to call them first thing in the morning on Tuesday.
Tuesday: Called the principal at Elyria, whom I had met before, and she remembered me (!!!!), told me to email my resume to her IMMEDIATELY, and within 20 minutes the English Department Chair was calling me to set up an interview for Thursday!
Wednesday: Peed my pants all day.
Thursday: Peed my pants during the day, then went to the school for the interview at 3pm. The building is 113 years old, with little to no a/c which meant that I was sweating even more than I normally would have. To be quite honest, my brain was seizing at points and I'm not sure if I was making any sense. I felt pretty good about the interview; after they asked me all the questions and gave me the job description it seemed like my answers to their questions were right on point with what they wanted. Which leads me to ...
Friday: I was driving to get English Muffins for English Muffin Pizza's for the kids, when I got a call from the Assistant Principal. They offered me the job, I graciously accepted the position, and someone from HR will be contacting me soon to come in and do paper work. Yay!
I'll be teaching 5 sections of Freshman English (which really scares me because Freshmen aren't my favorite). Two of the sections are "regulars," 1 is honors, 1 is inclusion (special ed), and one is 9th grade repeaters -- yes, these gems couldn't pass 9th grade English in the first place! I'm excited, and they're excited to have me back.
This is perfect timing because I was having a pretty rough weekend last weekend. I looked at all of the things that I thought I would have coming back to Cleveland, and NONE of them were happening. The place I was supposed to be living wasn't going to happen, I didn't have a job, and nothing was happening with the guy I like. I was really bummed out. And then all of a sudden these pieces started falling into place with the job. It's such a relief! Why did I ever doubt myself?!
It's a busy weekend -- We're seeing Batman tonight, going to Columbus tomorrow, going to Grove City to go shopping on Monday, and Tuesday is my birthday! yay! I already got my big birthday present from my mom, sister and dad -- I got a Kitchenaid Mixer. Apparently I'm now 203984 years old. My brother and his girlfriend got me some cookie sheets, spatulas, measuring cups and other fun baking stuff! I had purchased a gift for myself earlier in the week -- a set of serving bowls I was stalking at Marshall's. They're handmade in Portugal, and they're shaped like cabbage leaves but they're bright turquoise. I love them!

KJ, that's great you found a teaching job! Congrats!
ONE of my fav. memories of you is when we were in the potty of Dilliards....remember?!?!?
All I have to say is, I hope you have a large washing machine for all those pairs of pants you peed in...
Seriously, July 18th is your last update? I'm sorry but this is unacceptable.
