what i've done all day: snow day edition

In case there was any doubt in your mind, nobody loves a snow day more than a teacher. Guaranteed. We love them more than students do, because, on a regular basis most kids show up and just stare at you. Teachers have to do stuff. It's our job.

This week I've been staying at Hotel Brown while they freeze their heineys off in 60 degree Florida weather. So each morning when my alarm goes off, I've been turning on the tv from my king-sized bed to watch the weather report and always with a prayer in my heart that I'll see my school's name scroll across the bottom.

No luck.

Until this morning. I knew we were supposed to get a pretty sizable amount of snow overnight and thought maybe, just maybe we would be off of school today. And we were. And I needed this. So what have I done today? (nevermind what I needed to do today?)

I slept in.
I took a shower until the water ran cold, because I could.
I did some much needed laundry (because I have to check out of Hotel Brown tomorrow).
I watched 3 movies (Seven Pounds, The Soloist, The Kite Runner).
I watched 4 episodes of CSI.
I read a book.
I called the entire swim team to tell them our meet's time changed.
I watched the snow fall.
I drank hot chocolate.
I didn't think about school.

And it's been therapeutic.
