home again, home again, jiggity jig

The verdict is in. As of early June, I will once again be an Ohio resident.

I had my second semester observation and review with my principal today, and I told her officially I'm leaving. And this just on the heels of our department chair announcing her leaving, and the Title I coordinator announcing her retirement. There is at least one other English teacher leaving at the end of this year.

I feel really good about my decision, and my principal said she was more than happy to write me a letter of recommendations. In my meeting she got to listing all of the things that I had done on campus so far this year, and I had to chuckle. Any and all "new teacher's" books warn you not to get too involved, not to have too many fingers in too many pots, so to speak. I clearly didn't listen to that advice, and I'm glad I didn't. I've accomplished a lot of good things, and I'm excited to say I was apart of them all.

I'll post more later, but I'm on my way out the door. But two things before I go: one, I've been working on creating and assembling my sister's baby shower invitations. They're looking very cute and Martha Stewart-y if I do say so myself. second, I started reading The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis. I'm loving it so far. A full report to follow.

Good for you! I am so glad that you are doing exactly what you want! I would want to be by my family and friends too. :) I am glad that we were able to visit in AZ for a lunch. What an adventure you will have to remember! :) It sounds like you had such a nice Christmas with your family. Best wishes as you prepare to make your move. :)

CRIMINY: Just got word that since Dr. Larsen is now dept. chair, Dyer may have to take over a more active role as 2nd reader for my thesis. Just my luck.

Also, I too am glad you're heading home, but now my excuse for maybe taking an AZ vacation is gone!
