the return of the secret pal

It's a bit surreal that it's only February and it's already at balmy 78 degrees in this sauna that is Phoenix. I'm a bit concerned for what the upcoming months will hold. I am fearful.

My dad came into town on Saturday! Karen, Dad and I headed up to Sedona (where they are staying) and played around.

Sedona is only about 1.5 hours from me, so I'm wondering why it took me so long to go up there -- it's gorgeous! For a fleeting moment, Sedona instilled hope in me for Arizona. But only a fleeting moment. While the scenery is nothing shy of breathtaking, I don't think I could spend more than like a weekend there. I reminds me a lot of Gatlinburg, Tennessee. It's sort of tourist-trappy with a pretty view. We went to see some of the famous mountains there, did some outlet shopping, ate, enjoyed the sun (well, they enjoyed the sun, it was business as usual for me). I headed back to Phoenix Sunday night to start the daily grind...

Since this week marks the week of Valentine's Day, it has been the return of The Secret Pals at work (click here to read about Christmas). This time I am happy to report that I have a female who I know to some degree (we're on a committee together). This is what I know about her: she collects cows, she likes to read, she likes to travel and she likes milk chocolate (with nothing in it). This is a good start, but what am I going to do -- get her an airplane ticket? buy her a map? buy her a book she may or may not like? It's all pretty vague. So I headed off to my local Target (not the Super Target, much to my dismay). And Target did not fail me because they now have a I-don't-know-what-to-get-you aisle for Valentine's Day!

I only used this aisle to get some milk chocolate Dove minis, and everything else I'm making by hand.

[I realize that this post is slightly scattered -- I was listening to my roommates practice their music and was quite distracted]
