solitaire

During the past few weeks, I have rediscovered my love of solitaire (not being solitary but, you know, the card game). I was first taught how to play solitaire at my grandma's house, where we were shipped off every summer so my parents could be foot loose and fancy free.

I learned to play solitaire with Three-Draw Klondike, which is your standard solitaire. Seven rows of cards, a draw pile, and you try to get all of the cards stacked, by suit, from ace to king, drawing three cards each time from the draw pile. I also learned how to play a clock version of solitaire, also enjoyable.

I'm a very tactile person. I like to touch things, so playing solitaire on the computer isn't as enjoyable for me, but will do in a pinch, which is exactly all of the time.

Since December, when I got my computer, I have played 332 games. Of that 332, I have won 9% of those game. This, I know, because of the statistics that are so lovingly provided for me.

When I perused the app store on my iPod touch, I saw they had a version of solitaire for FREE! Naturally, I downloaded it. I typically play it just before falling asleep, while I'm cozy in my bed. This version also keeps track of my statistics, but what it does that my computer doesn't do, is tell me the total number of hours I have spent playing solitaire.

This is particularly depressing for a solitary sister watching her prime slip through her fingers, playing solitaire.
