No one was more excited than I to have this new (to me) bed. And while it is ten-fold nicer to sleep on than my other mattress, I am still not entirely pleased with it. Firstly, there is no frame -- he had one to offer but it was nothing shy of hideous, so I politely passed. Secondly, the box springs are quite old, and thirdly the mattress is from an RV, not even a real bed. It's a brand new mattress, which is nice, but it's about 5 inches too short for the box springs. But hey, beggars can't be choosers. I'm going to head off to Home Depot tonight to try to get some foam or something to make up the difference, and so I can put some real sheets on it.If I haven't mentioned before, Phoenix has been experiencing record breaking heat in October and the beginning of November. (Apparently it's supposed to be in the 70's which is "cold" according to my students.) Alas, yesterday it was overcast and raining. (I tried to snap a picture but the sun had come out before I had a chance.) Can you even believe it? I was joyful and excited to say the least. This coming week it's to be in the 60's and raining again! I'm quite thankful for that!
Nanette, Kristie and I are going to host Thanksgiving at our house. We've met a guy whose parents are serving for our church in Columbus, Ohio (of all places) so Robbie will be joining us too. It should be fun, and an adventure to post about!
Also, Kristie and I are going to sing a duet at church for Christmas. Nanette is playing the piano for us. It's called Where You There on that Christmas Night?. And get this ... I'm singing alto. Heaven help us! The girl who can't read music is singing alto! I must say it's coming along nicely.
**Happy Weekend to you all!**
