100 things about me

in honor of my birthday, and because all the cool kids are doing it, i've compiled a list of 100 things about me, kerrie:

1. growing up, none of my siblings and i got along


2. i can stick my fist in my mouth


3. i was born in west virginia, though i don't remember living there


4. i have lived in 5 states (west virginia, indiana, ohio, south carolina & now arizona)


5. i joined my church when i was 20 years old


6. i am a middle child


7. my older sister, kat, is my best friend

10. i moved to arizona on monday to start a teaching job

11. checking my email is important to me, it makes me feel connected to the world

13. growing up, i never knew that lawn mowers could be powered by anything other than my own legs (we had a push mower ... no gas required)


14. one of my favorite flavor combinations is cilantro and lime


15. i live for sonic diet cherry limeades -- and i'm happy that i'm close to so many!

17. my aunt and i share the same birthday (july 22)


18. i am a tv junkie -- i love the television


19. doing and folding laundry is incredibly therapeutic to me (just not necessarily putting it away)


20. i have a fear of silence and have to have some sort of white noise at all times


21. i drive a 2002 vw jetta


22. i learned to drive stick from my dad in my high school parking lot on our '89 mustang


23. i suffer from gerd (heartburn, like whoa)


24. if my gerd gets really bad, i throw up in my mouth (sick!)


25. growing up, i was always the first to cry at a sleep over and go home


26. my favorite season is fall


27. i miss the clouds in ohio


28. i have a hard time being outgoing when i'm in a situation where i don't know anyone, but once i get to know someone, i'm very outgoing


29. i was a secondary english education major


30. i love to read -- i will read anything i can get my hands on (even the car manual)


31. i like to cook, but i don't think i'm very good


32. i hate doing dishes


33. strong smells give me migraines


34. one of those smells is my mom's perfume


35. i like to drive and will sometimes get in my car and just go


36. i listen to NPR (my friends make fun of me)


37. i love christopher guest movies (best in show, waiting for guffman, a mighty wind)

40. if i'm in a large group, i often won't say "goodbye" if everyone else is ... i just figure their "goodbyes" sufficed for mine

42. i would love to travel to europe


43. i took french in middle school, high school and college

45. i like to crochet, but can't read patterns


46. i've only been to utah once -- for a friend's wedding 2 summers ago


47. i always have a book with me


48. one of my criteria for purses is that it can fit a book

50. i hardly have any green clothing


51. my closet is arranged by colors (blue, green, brown, black, grey, red, pink, white)


52. within those color divisions, shirts are arranged by long and short sleeves

54. i wear one piece of jewelry all the time -- my square tiffany's ring i got for my birthday 2 years ago


55. i swam all 4 years in high school and one year in college

61. i took all of my prerequisites for nursing school, then decided to be an english teacher

72. i wear escada sentiment perfume because it reminds me of charmkins, these little plastic dolls my sister and i used to play with that smelled like ... well, escada sentiment

76. i took piano lessons growing up, but stopped because i wouldn't practice at home

82. i only like to go to musicals if they're professionally done. low-rent musicals make me feel embarrased

90. i like to take pictures, but wish i could do it better


91. the older i get, the more i realize that age doesn't matter

97. when i was little, i was an insomniac -- my parents used to make me watch late night tv to put me to sleep. it didn't help and i can never watch threes company or m*a*s*h ever again
