As I was marveling at my closet the other day, I realized that the functionality of my wardrobe has done a paradigm shift. Once my closet was filled with jeans, polos, generally casual things. Now, its filled with, the dreaded "teacher clothes." I fought tooth and nail to avoid this infiltration, alas, it has happened. I find myself buying highly functional "teacher" apparel. Long gone are the days of cute jeans and things to wear with jeans; hello are the days when I look for cute work pants. I even find myself on the weekends grabbing my khakis or navy pants instead of jeans (I'm holding on to the excuse that they're cooler than jeans, since it's so bloody hot here).
While I still consider myself a fashonista, and I put together some really fabulous outfits, I fear that it is a slippery slope to something like this ...

I won't even comment, and perhaps neither should you.
Please tell me to retire if I ever get any sort of Christmas sweater, a sweater with rulers, school buses and/or apples for buttons. And heaven help us if I ever consider purchasing a (gulp) vest!
